Meet Kristin
Kristin Maschka is an executive coach, best-selling author, TEDx speaker, and activist. She has over 25 years of experience working side by side with leaders in a variety of fields to expand their capabilities, help them build high-performing teams, and translate their goals into collaborative action. When working with Kristin, leaders always get the clarity they need to take action and achieve their aspirations.
Kristin is inspired by change – change that leads to women’s equality and change that leads to thriving leaders and organizations. Never content with simply talking about change, Kristin specializes in creating the conditions necessary for leaders and teams to gain clarity and take action when facing complex challenges and ambitious goals. Kristin deftly meets individuals and groups where they are and leads them through conversations to clearly articulate where they want to be. Then with persistence and patience, she guides them through bridging that often-overwhelming gap by breaking it down into concrete actions, helping them connect all the dots along the way. Everyone she works with is infused with energy to move forward and achieve amazing results.
Her consulting firm, Maschka Enterprises, provides executive coaching for women and for executive leadership teams in higher education, non-profits, and high-tech companies, with clients such as Caltech, Stanford, and XPRIZE.
She has also served in multiple non-profit and political leadership roles herself. A few of these include: founding Board Chair of Planned Parenthood Advocates Pasadena & San Gabriel Valley; Chair of the Endorsements committee for Planned Parenthood Affiliates of California; Regional Organizing Leader for Hillary for America; National Board Chair for Mothers & More, and founding Board Chair of the Pasadena Education Network.
A master storyteller and inspiring speaker, Kristin explores the implications of our unconscious biases about women and men in her TEDx talk “How I Learned to Love Unconscious Bias” and her best-selling book “This is Not How I Thought It Would Be: Remodeling Motherhood to Get the Lives We Want Today.”
Kristin Maschka holds a BA and MA from the University of Chicago in the History and Philosophy of Science, where she is also in the Athletics Hall of Fame for basketball. She grew up in Minnesota, and she and her husband have a college-aged daughter and live in southern California.
